Interests in the WPT Area

We would like to investigate optical power transmission and optical data transmission for wireless and batteryless sensors especially for biomedical applications.

What do you expect the Action can bring to your entity?

With this COST action, we can learn more about ultra low power RF data transmission that we need for implantable sensors and biomedical devices such as catheters and guidewires. Currently, we are designing low power wireless and batteryless ICs that can be powered using optical power and that can communicate optically. Alternatively, with the knowledge we gain from this action we can develop microsystems that can use both optical and RF methods.

What do you expect you can bring to the COST Community?

Even though, the COST topic is mostly on RF powering, I can suggest that optical power for power transfer and RF for communication can be a good alternative for implantable sensors and biomedical devices such as catheters and guidewires. Currently, we are designing low power wireless and batteryless ICs that can be powered using optical power and that can communicate optically. Comparing optical and RF methods can be a good contribution.
