WIPE - Wireless Power Transmission for Sustainable Electronics



WIPE Newsletter

IC1301 - WIPE is a COST Action that aims to develop efficient Wireless Power Transmission (WPT) technologies and strategies tailored for battery-less systems and sensors, passive RFID and NFC, and establish Europe as a leading scientific and industrial player in this field. 

Since the budget proposed for 2015 has been approved by the COST Office, within this issue we focus on the activities planned for 2015.

Meeting in Graz, Austria

Registration is already open for the 4th Management Commitee / Working Group Meeting and Workshop that will take place in Graz from 30 to 31 March, 2015. Please register here (deadline 31 January).

Special Session at EuMW 2015

A special session dedicated to WIPE activities will be hosted at the European Microwave Week to be held in Paris, from 6 to 11 September, 2015. More information.

IEEE Wireless Power Transfer Conference 2015

The 2015 WPT conference will be held in Boulder, Colorado, USA, from 13 to 15 of May, 2015. The deadline for paper submission is the 30 of January 2015. More Information.

WG Meeting at LAAS-CNRS

The 3rd Management Commitee / Working Group Meeting and Workshop was held in Toulouse, France, from 29 to 30 of September.

London to get hybrid buses that could charge wirelessly

It seems that the next version of the famous red London buses will have wireless charging capabilities. More information.

Special Session at EuCAP 2015

Two convened sessions dedicated to wireless power transmission will be presented in EuCAP 2015, to be held in Lisbon from 12 to 17 April, 2015. More information here.

Thessaloniki Meeting

The 5th Management Committee / Working Group Meeting and Workshop will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 21 to 22 September, 2015. 

Training school in Barcelona, Spain

The training school entitled "Wireless Networks: From Energy Harvesting to Information Processing" will be held in Barcelona, Spain, from 9 to 13 November, 2015.

Best Student Presentation Prize

During the WIPE WG Meeting, that took place in Toulouse, France, from 29 to 30 of September 2014, Jeremy Valleau from the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse won the best student presentation prize with the work entitled: "Pre-Fractal Resonant Rings for Compact Spiral Antennas". 

Special WPT Session at URSI's AT-RASC'2015

WIPE will organize a special session dedicated to “Wireless Power Transmission and Energy Harvesting” in the AT-RASC’2015 conference (flagship event of URSI), to be held in Gran Canaria in May’2015. More information.

Training school in Valence, France

The European RFID School, Harvesting and Sensing will be a training school that will focus on practical aspects, tool and examples for implementing harvesting solutions for wireless devices, taking place between 1 and 4 September, 2015.

European Microwave Week 2015

The paper submission deadline is the 9 of February 2015. The conference will be held in Paris, from 6 to 11 September, 2015 More information.

2015 will be the “Year of Wireless Power”

WiTricity to Demonstrate Rezence-Enabled Solutions at the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). More information.
